State authorities in New York launched an investigation into Amazon-owned Twitch, Discord and other social media platforms used by the 18-year-old accused of the Buffalo mass shooting incident.
Authorities suspect the accused, Payton Grendon, used these social media accounts to plan, promote and broadcast the attack that left 10 dead at Tops supermarket.
According to the authorities, Grendon posted a white supremacist manifesto and a lengthy checklist and account of his preparations on social media before the rampage.
State Governor Kathy Hochul revealed additional measures to counter domestic terrorism, including legislation to tighten New York gun laws.
The legislation would also include a directive for state police to exercise their authority to disarm individuals deemed a public threat.
