Digital art collecting platform Neon has established the world’s first non-fungible token (NFT) vending machine in New York City. The NFT ATM, established in Lower Manhattan’s financial district, allows users to purchase digital pieces of art using USD credit and debit cards. The move is said to open up the NFT space to the layman who might otherwise find the process of creating a crypto wallet on NFT platforms a tedious affair. Jordan Birnholtz, the Chicago-based co-founder of Neon, said in a statement that with the advent of the NFT ATM, users will not be required to purchase Ethereum, pay gas fees or write smart contracts, making the buying and selling of NFTs far easier than before. Prices of NFTs on the vending machine are reported to range from $5.99 to $420.69.
