New York City Council's pay transparency law will take effect from May 15. But pushback from big organizations and a proposed amendment could create loopholes, limiting its scope.
The amendment could even delay the enforcement till November.
According to the law, every job posted by an employer should list the minimum and maximum salary pay range for the position. However, even a small alteration could affect the law in a manner right now unforeseen, and can even reduce the law’s potency.
