An off-duty police officer—who was part of the January 6 mob that attacked the Capitol—was found guilty of multiple felonies by the jury on Tuesday.

As per court documents, former Rocky Mount police officer Thomas Robertson is found guilty of six charges, including five felonies and one misdmeanor. Robertson will receive his sentence at a later date.

According to the Department of Justice statement, “The defendant carried a wooden stick, confronted police officers; later destroyed cell phones to hide evidence of crimes.”

Robertson—along with fellow off-duty police officer Jacob Fracker—breached the Capitol building during the riot and committed the felonies.

Fracker pleaded guilty on March 18 to a federal conspiracy charge and is awaiting sentencing too.
