Oklahoma passed the toughest abortion law when the state’s legislation approved banning abortions beginning at fertilization.
According to the bill, performing any abortion post fertilization, other than in a medical emergency or if the pregnancy was a result of incest or rape, will be illegal.
The bill, which will become effective after Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt signs it, will allow any private citizen to file a lawsuit against anyone who performs or assists with abortion for damages of a minimum of $10,000.
