Speaker Nancy Pelosi visits Ukraine (via Twitter)

Nancy Pelosi becomes the highest-ranking US official to visit Ukraine since Russia’s invasion. The US Speaker and four US congressional delegates paid an unannounced visit to the war-torn country to meet President Volodymyr Zelensky, sending a strong message to show US unbridled support to Ukraine.

“We are visiting you to say thank you for your fight for freedom. Your fight is a fight for everyone, and so our commitment is to be there for you until the fight is done,” Pelosi said in a video Zelensky’s office posted on Telegram.

Evacuation of civilians from the last Ukrainian-hold out in Mariupol
The United Nations and the International Red Cross led a humanitarian corridor on Sunday and evacuated hundreds of civilians from Mariupol’s Azovstal steel works.

President Volodymyr Zelensky tweeted that a group of 100 evacuees will first reach the Ukraine-controlled city, Zaporizhzhia on Monday.

Russia to pull out from International Space Station
Russia’s invasion of Ukraine came at a cost. With the increase in sanctions imposed by various countries, the Kremlin had decided to pull out of the International Space Station (ISS).

Russia will no longer work with NASA and the European Space Agency. Space research has been one of the rarest fields where the US and Russia showed cooperation.

Is NASA in trouble?
Russian rockets play an important role in the ISS by providing significant cargo for maintaining the space station. But over the past couple of years, NASA has been working with private entities, notably Elon Musk’s SpaceX for cargo transport to reduce its dependence on Russian resources.
