Dismissing Poland’s offer to provide the US with 29 MiG-29 fighter jets to be transferred to Ukraine, Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby stated Poland's proposal was not “tenable.”
The news comes hours after Polish officials said that they were ready to send all of their MiG-29 fighter jets to the US Air Force's Ramstein Air Base in Germany.
If accepted, the proposal could have provided Ukraine with the crucial support needed to mount a defense against Russian forces.
Political pundits have deemed the proposal too risky, as the US and NATO are actively seeking to avoid any kind of direct conflict with Russia.
