New York state officials claim that the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine loses its effectiveness from 68% to 12% against the Omicron variant in children aged 5 to 11. According to a study by scientists at the New York State Department of Health, the Pfizer vaccine shows limited efficacy after 28 to 34 days due to the lower dosage supplied to youngsters. Two age groups (5-11 and 12-17) experienced a dramatic drop in Pfizer vaccine effectiveness against COVID-19, lowering the chance to prevent infection and hospitalizations in children during the Omicron surge. The data was released as New York officials have set a date to end its school mask mandate by March 7.
