A federal grand jury charged four members of the Proud Boys group and its former leader Henry “Enrique” Tarrio with seditious conspiracy over the January 6 Capitol riot.

The indictment said Tarrio, 38, and his co-defendants used encrypted messages to block Biden’s certification.

On January 6, 2021, though Tarrio was not in Washington DC, he led the group and directed members of the crowd to breach the Capitol building, the Justice Department said.
