Today, Russia celebrates the country’s most important day, Victory Day, to mark the triumph of the Soviet Union over Nazi Germany during the Second World War.

The day is marked by a military parade on Moscow’s Red Square. But this year, it is also full of apprehension for the West.

Officials in Russia and the West believe that President Putin might declare a symbolic win over Ukraine or talk about the upcoming plans for the “special military operation” in Ukraine.
