British music entrepreneur Jamal Edwards, who set up the neo music platform SBTV that launched the careers of artists like Ed Sheeran, Jessie J, Skepta, and Dave—died at the age of 31 on Sunday morning. Edwards' company confirmed the news of his demise to the BBC. A pioneering entity in the genres of British rap and grime, Edwards was awarded a Member of the British Empire (MBE) in 2014 for his remarkable services to music, at just 24 years of age. He made his last appearance at the BRIT Awards last weekend, and it is believed he attended a party over the weekend, post which the news of his demise came to light. The cause of Edwards’ death remains unknown.
