Senator Joe Manchin is open to revising the Build Back Better plan by narrowing it down to address fewer issues. Suggesting several changes, the Senator also scaled down the spending package from the initial proposal of $3.5 trillion.

The factors that Manchin scaled down

The revised plan would now only address three issues—climate change, prices of prescription drugs and deficit reduction.

The revised deal will include $500 billion for climate and $1 trillion in new revenue.

Manchin is yet to take this proposal formally to the White House to resume the consideration of the BBB Plan, which is likely to face more hindrances despite the scaled-down budget.
