More than 45,000 Southern California grocery workers from Kroger Co and Albertsons Companies Inc voted to strike if needed, the UFCW 770 union said on Saturday.
The United Food and Commercial Workers International Union (UFCW) has been seeking significantly higher and equal pay, sufficient staffing and enough working hours from grocers.
As companies are seeing record profits due to the food price rise, the workers are demanding to be offered more.
