Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Thursday hosted the “Cyber Rodeo” event to mark the opening of his car manufacturing plant in Austin.
The Texas plant is Tesla’s fourth factory on a global scale—the other three plants are in Berlin, California and Shanghai.
The assembly plant will initially manufacture Model Y SUV, followed by the cybertruck next year.
The factory will increase production to meet the increasing demands the company faces.
The Cybertruck
Tesla’s most anticipated project, the Cybertruck made an appearance at the event as Elon Musk introduced a prototype of the project’s new version.
After its initial announcement back in 2019, Musk said the delivery of the Cybertruck will get delayed yet again.
The Tesla CEO had a busy, groundbreaking week with his purchase of a 9.2% stake in Twitter as he joined the platform’s Board of Directors.
