The Rhode Island lawsuit settled with $107 million against drug manufacturers Teva and AbbVie’s Allergan on Monday—over their contribution to the increased opioid addiction in the state.
The settlement includes $28.5 million in cash along with supplies for overdose treatment for over a decade.
The Rhode Island lawsuit is one of more than 3,300 claims filed across the country accusing drugmakers of failing to reduce addiction risks on opioid medications.
The company recently reached a similar $225 million settlement with Texas.
