Former President Donald Trump-endorsed JD Vance clinched the Republican Senate nomination for Ohio.
Setting a record for the most money ever spent on an Ohio election—$66 million—author of Hillbilly Elegy and venture capitalist Vance beat six other candidates in the race. His super PAC recently received a $3.5 million donation from Peter Theil.
With the November elections coming up, favor for the Republicans is increasing in Ohio as the state has shifted deeper into the GOP column—an important aspect of national politics.
Vance will face off against Democrat Tim Ryan at the mid-term elections in November.
