With speculations rising about Elon Musk joining Twitter’s company board, the platform’s CEO—Parag Agrawal—announced on Sunday that Musk has decided not to join the Twitter board.

After purchasing a 9.2% stake, the Tesla CEO became the biggest shareholder of the social media platform and was offered a seat on the company board.

Agrawal took to Twitter on Sunday, announcing Elon Musk’s decline of the offer, sharing a memo Agrawal sent to the company’s staff saying, “I believe this is for the best. We have and will always value input from our shareholders whether they are on our board or not. Elon is our biggest shareholder and we will remain open to his input.”

Changes suggested by Musk
Elon Musk suggested several changes for the social media platform, like cutting off the price for Twitter Blue premium, banning advertising, and giving an option to pay in cryptocurrency Dogecoin.

His other suggestions for changes include introducing the ‘Edit Button’ and changing the company’s San Francisco headquarters to a homeless shelter.

Following Parag Agrawal’s announcement, Musk tweeted a hand-over-mouth emoji.
