Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky accused Russia of genocide following reports that Russian jets struck a maternity hospital on Wednesday, burying children in debris.

The attack comes despite Russian agreement to a ceasefire to allow trapped residents to evacuate the besieged city of Mariupol.

The bombing, which police say harmed women in labor and left children trapped in the rubble, is the latest heinous chapter in what is the worst assault on a sovereign European state since 1945.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated during a recent press conference that he is "absolutely convinced" that the Russian President Vladimir Putin would fail in Ukraine, owing to the strength shown in Ukraine's defense and the Western solidarity in its united response against Russia.
