All non-emergency American personnel and their family members are urged to evacuate from the Shanghai consulate due to a surge in COVID-19 cases.
The US State Department has also advised Americans not to travel to Shanghai, Hong Kong, and Jilin due to the rising COVID-19 cases and the restrictions enforced by the government to keep the spread of the virus at bay.
Shanghai reported 25,000 symptomatic and asymptotic COVID cases yesterday as the city fights the worst outbreak since 2019.
