Sondra Wiener, 87—sister to Wall Street fraudster Bernie Madoff—and her husband Marvin Wiener, 90, were found dead in their home in Boynton Beach, Florida. Responding to a 911 call, the Deputies of Florida Police found the couple unresponsive with gunshot wounds in their home on Thursday. According to the press release on Sunday, detectives from the Violent Crimes Division arrived on the scene and confirmed it was a murder-suicide after investigation.
Madoff was sentenced to 150 years in prison for orchestrating a massive Ponzi scheme that wiped out people’s fortunes and ruined charities. He died at the age of 82 while incarcerated in prison.
