The James Webb Telescope, now in its commissioning stage, is one step closer to being able to view the distant cosmos and the first light following the Big Bang. Engineers are reporting continued success after aligning the mirrors that will capture the images from over 15,00,000 kilometers away from Earth as they finish three parts of the seven-phase alignment procedure. The James Webb team has finished the segment alignment and picture stacking processes and is presently fine-tuning the mirror placements. The picture of each mirror segment was improved by making slight modifications and repositioning Webb's secondary mirror.
