After two years, the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting 2022 became the first in-person leadership event since the COVID-19 pandemic.
The meeting commenced in Davos, Switzerland, with nearly 2500 global leaders from business, political and civil backgrounds.
The theme of this year’s WEF is “History at a Turning Point: Government Policies and Business Strategies.”
With conversation and discussions lining up on several issues, including COVID-19, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and the climate crisis—a group of millionaires joined protests against the WEF, accusing the forum of representing “a symbol of a failed era” that should be left behind.

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the WEF Forum through a video link, calling for additional sanctions on Russia, specifically on the Kremlin’s IT Sector.
Zelensky insisted on a complete oil embargo and requested to bar Russian banks from global systems.
