Robitussin recalls cough syrups due to contamination

Robitussin has issued a recall of eight lots of its Honey CF Max cough syrup for adults due to microbial contamination. Haleon, the manufacturer, is implementing corrective actions, and consumers are advised to stop using the product.

Haleon attributes the issue to elevated levels of yeast. The contamination poses risks to immunocompromised individuals, potentially leading to severe or life-threatening complications, warns the FDA.

The affected products, with expiration dates from October 2025 to June 2026, include day and nighttime versions.

The specific lot numbers—T10810, T08730, T08731, T08732, T08733, T10808, T08740 and T08742—can be checked on the label.

No adverse events have been reported, but individuals experiencing issues are urged to contact their physician or report adverse reactions to the FDA.
