Outgoing President Joe Biden urged Americans to remember the January 6, 2021, Capitol attack and resist efforts to rewrite its history. In a Washington Post op-ed, Biden emphasized the need for future generations to learn the truth through testimonies and history books.
The president highlighted the need to safeguard democracy and ensure peaceful transfers of power. He also awarded Liz Cheney the Presidential Citizens Medal for standing up to Trump and investigating his role in the attack.

Upcoming vote certification
