FBI reports Secret Service agents spotted a muzzle of an AK-style rifle about 400 yards away from where Donald Trump was playing golf

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) announced yesterday that it was investigating a second assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump at his golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida, on Sunday. The Republican nominee was unharmed.

The incident follows the July attack where Trump was shot at and hurt in the right ear while speaking at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania.

Details of the attack
FBI reports indicate that Secret Service agents spotted the muzzle of an AK-style rifle about 400 yards away from where Trump was playing.

An agent opened fire, but the suspect fled, leaving behind a rifle, a scope, two backpacks with ceramic tiles and a GoPro camera at the scene, suggesting the suspect had intentions to film the act.

The person, identified as 58-year-old Ryan Wesley Routh, was apprehended in a nearby county. He has an extensive history, including over 100 criminal counts in North Carolina and a 2002 conviction for possessing a machine gun.

Trump later informed his mailing list that he was safe and thanked the Secret Service for their actions.
