Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, co-leaders of the newly-created Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), don’t want federal workers to work from home and make them come into the office five days a week.

In a Wall Street Journal opinion piece outlining their plan to reduce government spending, they said that taxpayers shouldn’t fund the “Covid-era privilege of staying home.”

In the piece, they wrote that if the workers don’t agree, it would result in “voluntary termination.”

With 1.1 million federal workers eligible for telework, the Office of Management and Budget report found that 60% already spend their work hours in offices.
