The win gives the GOP a governing trifecta, enabling them to advance President-elect Donald Trump’s agenda

Republicans cemented their control of the House after securing critical seats in Arizona and California, defeating incumbent Democrats in key battleground districts.

The win gives the GOP a governing trifecta, enabling them to advance President-elect Donald Trump’s agenda, including tax cuts, deregulation of oil and gas production, and stricter border security.

While the exact margin remains unclear, Republicans are projected to have a slim majority.

The resignation of Rep. Matt Gaetz, nominated for attorney general by the President-elect, further complicated the GOP’s numbers and stunned GOP lawmakers.

Despite strong Democratic challenges, especially in Pennsylvania, where they lost key seats, GOP leaders, including Speaker Mike Johnson, vowed to pass legislation swiftly.

Democrats had some victories in New York, reclaiming three seats, but they fell short of the 218 seats needed for control.
