It is the first time in nearly 30 years that Teamsters has not endorsed a presidential candidate|@Teamsters|X

The International Brotherhood of Teamsters, representing 1.3 million members, decided yesterday not to endorse any presidential candidate for the first time in nearly 30 years. This is a setback for the Democratic Party, which has long relied on Teamsters’ support.

Union’s President, Sean O’Brien, cited insufficient commitments to protect union interests from both candidates.

Meanwhile, internal polling revealed that 59.6% of Teamsters members preferred Donald Trump, while 34% supported Kamala Harris. Despite the union’s decision, its local chapters in key states continue to back Harris.

The union last endorsed a Republican in 1988.
