Mobile shopping outpaced desktop sales, accounting for more than 51% of total sales
People went on a shopping spree this past holiday season (November 1 to December 31), shelling out an impressive $222 billion on electronics, gifts, and toys, among other things—a 4.9% jump from 2022, reports Adobe Analytics.
The surge was fueled by deep discounts on Cyber Monday, where shoppers spent a record $12.4 billion online. Buy now, pay later (BNPL) options reached a record $16.6 billion, up 14% from last year.
Adobe noted record-high online discounts, hitting 31% for electronics, 28% for toys and 24% for apparel.
Mobile shopping also took center stage, accounting for 51.1% of total sales, with a peak of 63% on Christmas Day.
