Fashion retailer J.Crew’s monthly print catalog, which ran for over 30 years and ceased in 2017, will come to your mailboxes this month as the company plans to capitalize on the nostalgia element associated with its iconic booklets.

J.Crew’s catalogs were a staple of American fashion, known for showcasing preppy styles in exotic locations. However, the company faced difficulties in the 2010s, including competition from fast-fashion stores that caused a decline in sales, eventually leading to bankruptcy filing in 2020.

The company is experiencing a revival, with sales nearing $3 billion in 2023. New CEO Libby Wadle, who took over in 2020, aims to ride the momentum and stay relevant. She hopes the brand’s revival will earn new customers and bring back loyal fans.

Not just J.Crew
Other mall brands like Abercrombie & Fitch and Gap also witnessed a revival in popularity by focusing on classic styles and quality. Younger shoppers are rediscovering them at thrift stores and resale platforms.

J.Crew’s new fall catalog cover features 90s actress Demi Moore and is mostly shot on film. (Cue nostalgia.)

The magazine will also have modernized elements, like QR codes, for easy buying options. It will be published three times a year.
