Costco has filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration, seeking full refunds for the tariffs it paid this year, in case the Supreme Court rules them illegal.

The wholesale retailer joins a growing list of companies and Democratic-led states challenging the legality of President Donald Trump’s sweeping duties.

Other companies taking similar legal action include Revlon, Bumble Bee Foods, and Kawasaki Motors.

The nation’s highest court could rule by the end of the year whether Trump’s reciprocal tariffs—imposed under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act—are unlawful.

It remains unclear whether or how previously collected tariffs would be refunded.
