Amazon is considering a bid for TikTok as it faces an April 5 deadline to sell the app or face a US ban.

The tech giant reportedly sent an offer letter to Vice President JD Vance and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick.

Meanwhile, Oracle, led by Trump ally Larry Ellison, may join a deal that reduces ByteDance’s stake below 20%, allowing TikTok to claim independence from China.

Lawmakers from both parties support regulating TikTok over national security concerns. The Supreme Court upheld Congress’s ban, but enforcement remains uncertain.

Trump, who previously pushed for a ban, now suggests saving the app, adding to the uncertainty.

If no deal is reached by April 5, TikTok’s US operations could face major disruptions, with potential legal and political battles ahead.
