Elon Musk’s support for Donald Trump and his political activism on the X platform has intensified worries about its neutrality
Social media X (formerly Twitter) recently restricted, labeled as spam, or suspended several pro-Kamala Harris accounts, leading to accusations that the Elon Musk-owned microblogging platform might be biased in favor of former president Donald Trump.
The “White Dudes for Harris” account was suspended shortly after a fundraiser they organized raised over $4 million. Meanwhile, “Progressives for Harris” was suspended after announcing an online rally featuring Bernie Sanders.
These actions have raised concerns among Democrats about possible intentional censorship.
Critics also fear inadequate staffing at the social media company following Musk’s 2022 takeover.
Musk’s visible support for Donald Trump and his political activism on the platform have further intensified worries about its neutrality. He is set to interview Trump this coming Monday night.
With the election approaching, such actions, whether intentional or not, highlight concerns about social media’s role in political discourse and its potential bias.
