President Donald Trump once again postpones ââenforcement of the TikTok sale-or-ban law for 75 days|Nordskov Media
President Donald Trump on Friday signed an executive order extending the deadline for TikTok parent ByteDance to sell the app’s operations in the US or face a ban in the country.
It is the second such extension that grants the platform 75 days and comes just one day before the ban was set to take effect.
Over the past few days, several tech giants and other companies, including Amazon, Blackstone and Andreessen Horowitz, made proposals to buy TikTok. Trump said his administration has made “tremendous progress” on the deal but needs more time.
Any deal will require China’s approval.
ByteDance confirmed talks are ongoing. The delay lets TikTok’s 170 million US users continue using the app while negotiations resume.
