The UCLA Bruins have officially reached the mountain top, capturing the first NCAA women's basketball national championship in school history with a decisive 79-51 victory over the South Carolina Gamecocks.

The title ends a drought dating back to UCLA’s 1978 AIAW championship.

Driven by the sting of last year's Final Four exit, the Bruins finished their campaign with an impressive 37-1 record. The victory was led by Gabriela Jaquez, Lauren Betts, and other UCLA seniors.
