After years of producing the Super Bowl halftime shows, Jay-Z is choosing to headline the event in February next year, according to Puck.

Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber were also reportedly considered for the performance.

The move marks a natural evolution in the $5 million-a-year partnership that his company, Roc Nation, signed with the NFL in 2019 and renewed in 2024.

At 56, Jay-Z has a music catalogue that appeals to both Generation X and millennial fans. His potential Super Bowl appearance would coincide with record-breaking stadium tours celebrating the 30th anniversary of Reasonable Doubt and the 25th anniversary of The Blueprint.

In September, he generated $12 million from a sold-out Paris concert. In July, he made over $42 million from three sold-out Yankee Stadium shows. He also reunited the Fugees at two sold-out London shows.

Although he has not released an album since 2017, Jay-Z’s music could unite all fans, including the conservative critics who voiced opposition to Bad Bunny headlining the halftime show this year.

The Super Bowl LXI halftime show is scheduled to happen in Los Angeles in February 2027. Jay-Z could make the announcement as early as this weekend.
