Elon Musk has launched Grokipedia, a crowdsourced online encyclopedia he claims will promote “truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.”
The site, powered by Musk’s artificial intelligence firm xAI, currently hosts about 885,000 articles, far fewer than Wikipedia’s 7 million articles in English.
Grokipedia’s simple design features only a search bar, allowing users to look up topics ranging from Taylor Swift to Buckingham Palace.
Musk has long criticized Wikipedia, accusing it of “propaganda,” and has urged people to stop donating to it.
Reports suggest Grokipedia uses the same AI model behind Musk’s Grok chatbot, with some entries adapted from Wikipedia.
The project adds to Musk’s growing online media empire, alongside X and Grok.
Wikipedia co-founder Jimmy Wales said AI cannot match human accuracy, noting that human visits to Wikipedia have fallen 8% this year, while AI scraping has surged.
