The National Frequency Agency told Apple to temporarily stop selling iPhone 12|David McKelvey|CC BY-NC-ND 2.0

The French government agency found the electromagnetic radiation Apple iPhone 12 emits is above the European Union standards, prompting regulators to order the tech giant to temporarily halt the sale of the product.

The National Frequency Agency on Tuesday ordered Apple to “implement all available means to rapidly fix this malfunction” for phones that are already in use. If the issue persists, the agency says, “Apple will have to recall” phones that have already been sold.

Apple has disputed the findings.
