The camera-free Ray-Ban Meta Audio glasses are set to release next month|Meta Newsroom

At its developers conference yesterday, Meta introduced several variations of its smart glasses, including a camera-free Ray-Ban Meta Audio starting at $349.

The launch of Meta’s camera-free Audio glasses next month comes amid concerns raised by users and privacy experts over the past year about Meta’s Ray-Bans being used to record people without their knowledge or consent.

At the Meta Connect event, CEO Mark Zuckerberg unveiled other new hardware, including the Meta VR Glasses, set to launch in spring 2027 for $1,299. The glasses have shed the headbands and are five times lighter than the Meta Quest 3. They offload processing to an external puck containing a Qualcomm processor and battery.

He also detailed plans to integrate Meta’s smart glasses with its popular AI agent, Muse.

Zuckerberg also previewed the Muse Charm, a compact handheld device designed for hands-free interactions with Meta’s Muse AI personal agent. It plans to ship the device in time for the December holidays.
