Hawaii is under a statewide flood watch after a powerful storm brought heavy rain and forced evacuations.
The island experienced its most intense rainfall in 20 years yesterday, resulting in power outages affecting over 2,000 people by Sunday afternoon.
Oahu and parts of Maui County face a high flash flood risk, with some areas receiving up to 50 inches of rain in 10 days and more expected.
Authorities have rescued over 230 people and evacuated about 5,500 residents near Honolulu.
Officials warned that a dam on Oahu could collapse, while roads, homes, airports, schools, and hospitals suffered heavy damage.
The storm, driven by a Kona Low system, could cause losses exceeding $1 billion.
