A powerful winter storm wreaked havoc in the Northeast on Saturday, blanketing New York and other states with heavy snow and rain.

Central New York faced up to a foot of snow, marking the season’s most substantial storm. New Jersey, Connecticut and Massachusetts also battled snow accumulation.

Winter storm warnings, including blizzard alerts, covered over 15 million people from the East Coast to Nevada.

What to expect?
The storm is set to intensify with powerful winds delivering an additional four to eight inches before moving offshore. The National Weather Service (NWS) warned of triple weather threats across the country, predicting continued hazards into the week.

Simultaneously, a second storm system in the Rockies is set to hit the Midwest with blizzard conditions, while a third storm approaches the Pacific Northwest with heavy rain and winds.

Meteorologists cautioned of widespread flooding, flash floods, and severe thunderstorms with damaging winds and tornadoes in the forecast.
