Storm damage at Panama City Beach, Florida|@jeffreyscott88|X

Tornadoes wreaked havoc across the Gulf Coast and claimed three lives yesterday. In Florida and Alabama, homes were demolished, trailers overturned, and debris scattered.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis declared a state of emergency for 49 counties. A section of Panama City Beach faced a curfew due to hazardous damage.

A small town in Alabama was destroyed. It resembled the devastation caused by Hurricane Michael in 2018.

The National Weather Service (NWS) reported 15 tornadoes along the Gulf Coast, with watches extending from Florida to Virginia.

The storm system driven by an atmospheric river caused chaos across the country—from snow blanketing the Plains to heavy rains in the Northeast, resulting in school closures, flight delays, and over 670,000 power outages.

Friday and Saturday can expect severe weather.
