Apple and Meta are discussing an AI partnership

Apple is actively negotiating with rival Meta Platforms, Facebook parent, to integrate its generative AI model into the iPhone maker’s newly unveiled AI system, Apple Intelligence, reports the Wall Street Journal.

The move aligns with Apple’s strategy to incorporate technologies from various AI firms (instead of building its own AI) amid talks of potential partnerships with Google, Anthropic and Perplexity, aiming to enhance devices with features like ChatGPT while prioritizing privacy.

If finalized, the collaboration could provide Meta and other AI startups with unprecedented access to Apple's extensive user base, akin to the ecosystem provided by its App Store for applications.
