Martha Stewart is backing an AI home maintenance platform called Hint|@MarthaStewart|X
Homestyle guru Martha Stewart has co-founded Hint, an AI-powered home management platform designed to monitor properties for maintenance, utility bills, and repair risks.
Hint is aiming for a summer launch and has already raised $10 million in seed funding led by Slow Ventures.
The Stewart-backed venture aims to give homeowners a heads-up before something in their house breaks, unlike platforms like Angi and Thumbtack, which connect people to contractors after something happens in their house.
Hint will have a membership model and may also earn through commissions and transaction fees.
The AI platform requires just a property address to draw public data on weather, soil, air quality, and listings. Users can upload warranties, bills, and inspection reports for better analysis of their needs.
Analysts note that Hint is entering a market already filled with home maintenance startups like Honey Homes and Birdwatch. But it prides itself on being AI native.
Homes are the largest financial asset for most Americans, which requires huge spending. The Harvard Joint Center for Housing Studies projects that annual US homeowner spending on improvements and maintenance will reach $522 billion by the end of 2026.
