While scientists are breaking their heads to find solutions to the climate crisis facing us, some suggest breaking the Moon.

Just a theory
Theoretical astrophysicists at the University of Utah researched spreading dust particles made up of coal and sea salt into space to dim the Sun’s rays on Earth by 2%.

But transporting dust particles into space would be costly, so the astrophysicists suggest a cheaper way—mine the Moon for dust particles and shoot them into space around Earth to create a solar shield.

Although this is just a theory, it is being considered a better alternative to mining Earth and shooting dust particles into the atmosphere to create a solar shield.

But
If implemented, dust particles from the Moon would have to be shot yearly to maintain the shield. But before that, drilling equipment and ballistic guns will need to be transported.

Similar theories have been gaining traction in recent times, but nothing can beat cutting back on greenhouse gas emissions to avert the climate crisis.
