The movie raked in $204.6 million in domestic sales and $377 million in global box office sales.
The animation film also became the biggest IMAX opening weekend of all time, with $21.6 million globally, per Comscore.
The Super Mario movie has set a new global opening record. In 2022, Sonic The Hedgehog 2 brought in $190 million globally and $72 million in the US and Canada.
Ben Affleck’s sports drama Air brought in $14.4 million over the three-day weekend in its domestic debut and $24.9 million worldwide.
