The battle has become so popular that the dish has been eating into burger’s popularity. The phenomenon has every fast-food chain in America jumping on the trend and developing their own interpretation of the sandwich.
Dig, known for its bowl-based meals, has added a crispy chicken sandwich to its menu in response to customer demand for handheld options.
Shake Shack, McDonald’s and Wendy’s have introduced their variations as well.
An increasing number of sit-down restaurants also want a bite.
According to Bloomberg, chicken sandwiches now appear on 47% of restaurant menus, while burgers are on only 41%.
