In its latest quarter, Nintendo’s revenue fell 17%, and net profit plummeted 69%
Nintendo has lowered its sales forecast for the Switch console and now expects to sell 12.5 million units instead of the previous 13.5 million. The company reported revenue fell 17%, and net profit plummeted 69% in the first half of its fiscal year.
Switch, launched over seven years ago, is still the company’s second best-selling console ever, but it is seeing less demand.
The Japanese gaming firm also reduced its sales and profit predictions, now aiming for $8.31 billion (1.28 trillion yen) in sales and $2.3 billion (360 billion yen) in operating profit.
While the success of relaunching past games like The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and films like Super Mario Bros. Movie helped boost sales before, that effect is fading.
