The bill would fund programs to boost homebuilding and curb large investors’ purchases of single-family homes

Lawmakers passed a bipartisan housing bill in the Senate on Thursday, 89–10, seeking to improve affordability by reducing regulations, regulating corporate investors, and widening the use of housing funds.

The 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, authored by Tim Scott and Elizabeth Warren, now goes back to the House.

It would fund programs to boost homebuilding and curb large investors’ purchases of single-family homes.
