Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the US Congress yesterday amid protests outside the Capitol.

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and VP Kamala Harris were among 80 Democratic lawmakers who weren’t in attendance.

During his address, Netanyahu vehemently rejected accusations from the United Nations (UN) and human rights groups that Israel has committed war crimes in Gaza. He called these criticisms “utter nonsense” and labeled pro-Palestinian protesters as “idiots” and tools of Iran.

In his speech, he pledged to achieve “total victory” in Gaza.

While thanking President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump for their support, Netanyahu criticized the Biden administration’s peace proposals and urged the US to fast-track military aid.

The Israeli prime minister is set to discuss Gaza ceasefire negotiations with Biden on Thursday. However, significant hurdles remain in the process.
